Playlist for the Creative Mood!

Music is the number one thing that puts me in a creative mood. There’s nothing better than put on a playlist, and painting to some tunes. Although the tone changes from time to time – I usually listen to upbeat music while I make things. Whether it’s designing some buttons or working on a watercolor. It keeps me attentive to my work, and makes me not think about how much my hand hurts from drawing.

Everybody has a different taste in music. Some people only listen to Reggea while other might prefer Salsa or Jazz. So everyone has a different playlist that makes them creative. Maybe some people put on classical, so they can feel like a virtuoso. – I don’t know. Everybody is different. I usually prefer to listen to classic rock and modern Alternative Rock. Sometimes pop songs even weasel their way in, depending on my mood.

If you’re more of a TV while you work person, that’s fine! But, if you’ve never tried listening to music while you create, I would suggest trying it! Mood can influence your mood and your art. Inspire you to try something new, or vamp up something old! You never what you might make!

If you’re working on building yourself a playlist to work your magic to – here’s mine!

  1. “Last Young Renegade” – All Time Low
  2. “Life of the Party” – All Time Low
  3. “Renegades” – X Ambassadors
  4. “Your Love Is My Drug” – Ke$ha
  5. “Rather Be (feat. Jess Glynne) jackLNDN Remix” – Clean Bandit
  6. “Jet Black Heart” – 5 Seconds of Summer
  7. “Famous Last Words” – My Chemical Romance
  8. “When the Girls Talk Boys” – 5 Seconds of Summer
  9. “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” – Meghan Trainor & John Legend
  10. “I’m Gonna Show You Crazy” – Bebe Rexha

Maybe my playlist can help to inspire yours. Maybe it can help you find new music to add to yours! – Give it the punch it needs. Hopefully your tunes get you excited to work!

Thanks for Reading!

Playlist to Amp Up Your School Morning!

School_Morning_Title

School mornings are some of the slowest. Sometimes you just don’t want to go. Sometimes, you don’t have your homework done. Some days it’s just miserable outside and you don’t want to drive. But you know you have to anyway. I have a lot of those mornings. On those days, nothing gets me motivated like music.

Music makes my morning drives go so much faster. Music is my get up and go when the coffee isn’t working. There’s nothing like some tunes on the ride to school. A little singing, a little dancing, a little drumming along while sitting in traffic.

For me, though, I have to have really upbeat songs. Having slowly or soft ones just makes me want to sleep. That’s not good when you’re driving, and don’t want to be out anyway.

This is my School Morning Playlist!

  1. Drugs & Candy – All Time Low

  2. Here’s to Never Growing Up – Avril Lavigne

  3. Jet Black Heart – 5 Seconds of Summer

  4. Eleanor Rigby – The Beatles

  5. Rhinestone Eyes – Gorillaz

  6. Galway Girl – Ed Sheeran

  7. Victorious – Panic! At The Disco

  8. Plastic Promises – Set It Off

  9. Closer  – The Chainsmokers, Halsey

  10. Kill Your Heroes – AWOLNATION

Nothing gets my blood pumping more than music. Although my taste is all over the place, these are songs that I think are fun to rock to. Song that get me up and going on slow school mornings. Hell, these songs get and up to go on non-school mornings. Sometimes, you just need music to help give your a little nudge.

But not everyone has the same taste in music. What’s your favourite get up and go songs? Who is your go-to artist?

#DontStayInSchool

dontstayinschool_title.jpg

For those of you who just see the title, and think I’m advocating for kids not to go to school. – That is very far from what I’m here for. With this being school month here on the blog, I thought I’d share a video I found a while ago. I think this is a very important video.

You can watch it HERE

School is full of subjects that kids really don’t need. Or subjects that they don’t need more than the basics of. Why do I need to go all the way to Trig, when basic math is literally all I need? Why do I need to dissect a fish or a baby pig? I know how my cells work, how reproduction is done, what causes cancer and, why the seasons change. Why do I need to learn more?

What is the point of learning these, if they’re not at all applicable to the child’s everyday life?

School doesn’t prepare kids for the real world on any level. People say that parents are supposed to do that. But what if they don’t know how, or what if they’re not around? What about all those people who are orphans, or that their parents are dead and they’re living with another relative?

Home Ec used to be taught as a mandatory class in high school and middle school. My parents say it was one of the most important classes they took. They learned to sew and some of how to cook. I think it’s a tragedy that this was taken out of the curriculum. Kids really need a class like that.

People are going to college unable to clean or cook or budget. Like the video says, we’re not taught how to get jobs or any amount of practical things in school. Kids spend more time there than at home, and at home they’re doing homework. Their parents are just getting home, they don’t want to have to teach their kid to cook after a long day.

We’re taught a bunch of pointless things. But nothing of what we need. I know we need to know history to stop it from repeating (although, by the political climate and current goings on, we’re very much about to). It’s important to learn to read, write, and do math – but is it really necessary to learn more than basics? If you want to go into a field that needs it, sure, knock yourself out. I, though, had no want or need for any extra.

Even in college you have to take “college level” math and such. I get why English is important (although not why all the essays are), so they can make sure that you can read and write on an ‘adult’ level. But more math and science? Why did I have to take Psychology or Biology? I wanted nothing to do with either of those. But I was required to do them anyway.

The video better expresses these feelings than I can. It’s definitely worth giving a watch and thinking some about.

What do you think of the video?

July 2017 Recap

July_Title.png

I’m not quite sure where July went. May crept by, then June sped up, and now July is gone in a flash. I wish it’d all so s l o w down for a bit. Why does time have to go by so fast?

So, July was an interesting month.

The month started with a family cook out, and watching a close friend of mine get married! I’m glad to see her happy. It’s great that her and her husband (which is still weird to say) are starting a life together. I think it’s amazing that she took the initiative to start living her own life.

I also got to launch my YouTube channel this month! Unfortunately, the last half of the month, I didn’t really stick to a schedule. Which I am going to try and fix in August! Starting August, I will be posting videos every Wednesday! As it is now, two videos a week is difficult and will be harder with school starting. I will also go back to posting twice a week, and using Wednesdays as announcement days!

The new season of Shameless came on Netflix this month! Thomas and I watched it within a few days. It’s amazing! It’s crazy, thinking back to how the show started. If you’ve never watched Shameless, I recommend it. – Just not if there are small children about!

Warped Tour was in July, the 16th for Columbia. It was so much fun! My friend, Paige, and I brought our boyfriends this year! Last time (two years ago) it was just her and I and her parents. Having a whole gang together this year, just made it that much more fun! Especially since the guys had never been to a concert before. I love when I get to be the first to have done something with my boyfriend!

For Warped Tour, I also did my first haul post! I was interesting, doing one. I don’t really go shopping a lot. So I never really get a chance to do those posts. And the fact that it was after that, made it that much better!

Starting a YouTube channel wasn’t the blogs only big step last month, though. Incredibly, we hit 1,000 followers! It’s so crazy to think about that number. And I don’t think I will ever be able to thank everybody enough! And the love and support never ceases to amaze me. Thank you, everybody, so so much!

Also, last month, I started a Ko-Fi account! There, you can help support the blog! The donations start as small as $3, that’s the price of one coffee (it’s cheaper than real coffee!). It’d be amazing if you could help me keep bringing you awesome content, and help me bring improvements to your viewing experience. You don’t even need a PayPal account!

I finally got to go on a Fair Date last month! The county fair was the last week of the month, and Thomas and I went to watch the rodeo! It never ceases to amaze me. This year they had a Native American girl, who was she was doing tricks with her horses. She even jumped through a hoop of fire with two horses, one foot on each horse!

July wasn’t as crazy as June. But some crazy things still happened! I’m hoping August, with the start of school, will be a good month. I hope you all have a good August too!

Have was your July?

Mini-Haul: Warped Tour 2017

warped_title.jpg

So, you may have noticed that there was no video Monday. There is a reason, and it isn’t for slacking!

Over the weekend I went to Warped Tour!

I went with my friend, Paige, and her parents, who I went with back in 2015. This time we took our boyfriends! It was such a blast, and it was great getting to give the guys their first concert experience!

Even though it was hot, the day was amazing! It’s always great seeing your favourite bands, and getting to discover new ones. It’s also just a really great experience to have. Concerts are always lively and a lot of fun. I’ll be going with Paige to see All Time Low in Baltimore August 2nd! I’m so excited!

But that’s for another time.

Today, I thought I’d show off show of the things I got at Warped!

IMG_20170718_214242.jpg

This shirt is probably my favourite thing from Warped Tour! It’s a shirt by a company called Choonimals! They have so many cool designs; shirts, stickers, little notebooks and a lot more! I have a fox shirt I bought from them two years ago at Warped. I got a $5 discount for wearing it! I should have gotten a medium, not a large, but the tank top is big, airy, and comfy!

IMG_20170718_214732.jpg

American Satan is Andy Black’s new movie! Andy Black is the leader singer of Black Veil Brides. But he’s also currently traveling as a solo artist! He was the first act that we saw, and it was amazing as always! I saw BVB at Warped two years ago, when to his solo concert last year, and now I saw him again. (I put it up, but took it down because of the satanic symbol, lol)

IMG_20170718_214344.jpg

Jule Vera is an incredible band from Alabama! Paige and I bumped into them last time, but couldn’t catch their set. But we got to this year! And then we met the band! They signed the book! Paige took one of the show announcement poster for me – not like they were going to need them after! Also, she bought two of their CDs and a poster for $10. But she already had one of the CDs, so she gave me one! (I just forgot to take a picture with it, lol)

IMG_20170716_170746.jpg

Also got a bracelet at the Journey’s and PETA 2 tents (I forgot to take a pictures of the bracelets)! Journey’s, from what I’ve come to understand, sponsors Warped Tour. They had volunteers there working the tent. You could drop a disk down a chute, and win a compliment, a high five, a bandanna, or a few other things. I got a compliment, and the wrist band was complimentary and had a code for $5 off a Journey’s purchase.

While the PETA 2 bracelet – I have issues saying no to people, lol This girl came up to Paige and I and told us to text SUFFER to some number for support veganism. Paige lied, and said her phone wasn’t working. I felt bad saying “no,” or lying as well (plus lying as well seems suspicious). She was nice, but still had the pushy undertone. I didn’t go as far as trying to get the vegan cheese, like the guys did.

Overall, Warped Tour was a whole lot of fun! I think it’s a great experience, and there are so many cool booths and merch. You also get to see some pretty cool outfits (as well as some you never wanted to see). I’m probably going to do a recap vlog on Friday! So watch out for that!

Also, I’d like to announce that you can now help me and help support the blog! I decided to sign up for Ko-fi.com, so now you can Buy Me a Coffee! Any donation is appreciated! It’ll help me be able to produce some cool stuff for you guys – both on here and on YouTube!

You can Buy Me a Coffee here, or through the link in the menu of my home page! Any donations will go back into the blog and channel, as well as be greatly appreciated!

I hoped you guys liked my first ever haul post!

Summer 2017 Beach Playlist!

beach_title.jpg

There is only one place I’d prefer to spend my summer. Beaches are the best place to spend the summer. If I could, I’d just live there from May to August. It’s my favourite place to be, with the salt water and the sun and the sand.

I love it!

But every good beach trip needs a rockin’ playlist! Everybody’s is different, but this is my beach playlist!

  1. “One Step at a Time” Jordin Sparks
  2. “Sign of the Times” Harry Styles
  3. “Renegades” X Ambassadors
  4. “Don’t Kill My Vibe – Gryffin Remix” Sigrid, Gryffin
  5. “Here’s to Never Growing Up” Avril Lavigne
  6. “I Got A Feeling” The Black Eyed Peas
  7. “When the Girls Talk Boys” 5 Seconds of Summer
  8. “Bibi Be Ye Ye” Ed Sheeran
  9. “Whistle” Flo Rida
  10. “Ain’t It Fun (feat. Luke Holland)” Tyler Carter (Paramore Cover)
  11. “It’s Time – Passion Pit Remix” Imagine Dragons
  12. “Your Love Is My Drug” Ke$ha
  13. “Rather Be (feat. Jess Glynne) jackLNDN Remix” Clean Bandit
  14. “Emmeline” Bruno Merz
  15. “We Don’t Run” Bon Jovi
  16. “Freak Machine” Fit For Rivals
  17. “Last You Renegade” All Time Low
  18. “Victorious” Panic! At The Disco
  19. “Partners in Crime (feat. Ash Costello)” Set It Off
  20. “This Town” Niall Horan

There’s nothing quite like blaring music with the windows down. Especially on beach weather days! Hopefully you all get to go to the beach this summer! Or at least get to take a fun road trip – whether with family or with friends! I know I cannot wait to get in the water! I love it so much! There’s nothing quite like the salt water and the briny air! (The sun burn, not so much, lol) I know what I’m going to be playing on the way! Now if I can convince my boyfriend to go to the beach…lol

What are your beach go to’s? What are your summer day trip plans?

Giveaway Winner + A to Q

Hello everybody!

As you know, last week I hosted a giveaway for some buttons and Etsy items! As well as announced I was doing a Q+A for 500 followers. Which, by the way, is crazy because we’re over 700 now!! Thank you all so much!!

As for the giveaway – I put everyone’s names in a random picker!

The winner is Veronica M. with her comment –give_winner

Congratulations!

As for the Q+A –

StarringPamela asked –

What is your favorite song lyric?

That one is hard, I listen to a lot of music. Each band has their own lyric that I love. But my favourite of all of them…I think is from “What Do I Know” by Ed Sheeran.

“We could change this whole world with a piano
Add a bass, some guitar, grab a beat and away we go.”

It shows the power of music, and how strongly it can pull people together. Regardless of other beliefs.

That or,

Underneath the lights of the motorway
That’s where I go to keep your ghost away
We used to be such a burning flame
Now we’re just smoke in the summer rain.

I don’t know what it is about this stanza in “Last young Renegade” by All Time Low. But I love the feel of it. Maybe it’s the tune…
Who is someone who inspires you and why?

There are a lot of people who inspire. But I guess, of all of them, my mom inspires me the most. She’s super creative, and also Supermom! She’s always let me do what I wanted, creatively. No matter how messy it was.
What is something you love doing but don’t dedicate enough time to?

I love to paint with India Ink and watercolor. But I never really do it a whole lot. I enjoy doing traditional art, as much as I enjoy digital. But I never really do it a lot.

While Jess asked –

where do you see yourself in 10 years’ time?

In ten years, I see myself  being happily married with kids. I’m hoping to be doing a job I love, and to have a few books written by then. I’m hoping to have made something of myself by then. And to be able to help support my family. I’m also hoping, in ten years, to have seen some of the world.

Thank you, again, for entering my first ever giveaway! Also for sending in questions! I can’t thank everyone enough for all of the support you’ve given me. I’m hoping you’ll stick around for all the things to come!

Thanks for Reading!

10 Things to Do On a Rainy Day

Rainy_Cover.jpg

Rainy days are some of my favourite. Storms cause energy to rush through my body; I adore hearing that thunder rumble. They’re just – wonderful! I adore them. However, not a lot of people do. They don’t like being stuck inside, or the grey clouds bring them down – sometimes you can’t find anything to do! But I always look forward to grey stormy days, so I thought I’d bring you a list of some rainy day activities!

  1. Dance in the Rain

That’s right – you read that correctly. That wetness ruining your day, go dance it in! I’ve always loved doing that – when it’s warm. Cold rain is no fun, but warm rain offers the perfect opportunity to put on a swim suit or non-shrinking clothes and go puddle tromping! There’s nothing like being covered in rain water; it’s cleansing to the soul.

  1. Watch the Rain

If you’re not one for going out in it, watching the rain fall and whipping wind is therapeutic. For me, even more so if it’s a full blown storm – thunder, lightning, tree leaves blowing around like confetti..! Storms are so full of life and energy – it’s thrilling!

  1. Read a Good Book

This one may seem cliche and overused. But there’s something about gloomy days with diffused light that gives it a slow feel. And a book always seem just the ticket to pass the time.

  1. Cuddle

Cuddling is a lovely way to pass the time on a rainy day. Especially if it’s a cold rain. Cuddle up with your dog, your cat, your significant other, your guinea pig and just have a chill day. Pop on your favourite movies, or binge watch that TV show you’ve been wanting to get to.

  1. Listen to Music

Spend the day zoning out, and listening to some tunes! I actually wrote up a playlist that you can find HERE for just such days!

  1. Go Get Coffee

Treat yourself to some coffee – or tea or hot chocolate, if you’re not into coffee! That little cafe you’ve always wanted to go to? Go there, get a window seat, and take your time watching the world while sipping your drink.

  1. Catch Up with an Old Friend

Invite out someone you haven’t seen in a while. Go out to lunch, or stay in for brunch, or a talk over coffee. Enjoy their company!

  1. Get Productive

Rainy days are perfect days to get productive and organize your desk, purse or book bag! That paper or report you have to write, get it over with! That music video you’ve been promising your friend you’d watch for the last week, finally get around to that. Clean the house, in all the nitty gritty places. Reorganize your bookshelf or office or craft room. Get your ‘get up and go’ on!

  1. Have a ‘You’ day

Treat yo-self! Shut off your phone, your laptop, your tablet. Just focus on you! Give yourself a manipedi, or make that new recipe you’ve been dying to try, or even just clip your toenails. This day is all about you.

  1. Pinterest Interest

Go on and find all those Pinterest DIYs, but you never have. It’s too gloomy to go out, might as well stay in and have some fun!

I hope these help to soothe your rainy day boredom! If you’re like me, you find these kind of days inspirational and beautiful and look forward to them! If not, well, I hope you find these useful for staying dry inside!

Thanks for Reading!
